Steel Tigers Guestbook

looking for anyone that can verify that i was on an apc (Track24) when it struck a landmine. Not exactly what the date was but sgt stump was the TC and SFC Belcher was the plt sgt. It happened on a day when a dismounted patrol had found a bunch of chicom explosives. Caot Dunklin was the company commander at the time.. I wasn't physically hurt but the blast left a ringing in my ears for days and now i have to wear hearing aids in both ears and i can't claim that it happened in combat . I have contacted sgt stump and he says he don't remember me being there. after the explosion I accompanied the track back to Quan Tri and we put it all back together and put it back in service. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it very much.

I received a letter today informing me of the passing of Joe Offutt, my first 1SG. This is profoundly sad news. 1SG Offutt will always be my 1SG. My sincere condolences to Jean and family on their loss. We have lost some one who had a great influence on who we are today. :!cry:

I am glad to see the guest book back up. I haven't got to make any of the reunions yet, but I am hoping to make the next one. I would like to get in touch with a lot of steel tigers from Viet-Nam. It is hard to imagine that it has been 46 years ago.

My fellow Steeltigers, I was looking for my personal photo album to bring to this year's reunion in Pittsburgh & wasn't able to locate it. Once I got back home, I scoured my house and car & haven't been able to find it. The last time I remember see it was during the 2015 reunion in Ventura. I am posting this in the hope that someone may have seen it lying around the hospitality room or elsewhere at the Crowne Plaza hotel.
I have contacted the manager at the hotel without result. It is a square, green, vinyl-covered album with a US Army sticker & an address sticker (with an old address of mine). It contained my military award certificates, dd214, award paperwork & photographs.
Obviously, this album contains items very dear to me & are irreplaceable. If anyone has any information on my album, please contact me: email: redman.5@netzero.com; phone: 586-612-4234. Thanks.

Happy to see that the Guest Book has been revived.

I won't be attending the 2016 reunion, too expensive and no interesting activities.
