PLANS FOR REUNION 2004 ARE UNDERWAY! The reunion planning committee has been hard at work putting together a plan that should make for a great time. The reunion is set for July 14-18, 2004 in The Galt House Hotel, located in Louisville, Kentucky. That's the same hotel we stayed in for our 2001 reunion! Plans call for our arrival on Wednesday afternoon with check-in and lots of casual time for visiting old friends and opportunities to make new ones. Thursday promises to be a fun packed day with a visit to either CALFEX (the firepower demonstration) or the tank simulators. That evening, we will have a 2-hour dinner cruise on the river. Friday, we will attend a memorial service at the Patton Museum, followed by a BBQ luncheon. Later that evening we will have dinner and a ball game at slugger field. Saturday morning we will have our annual business meeting while the ladies shop at the nearby "Louisville Alive" shopping area. That evening will be capped off with a sit-down dinner and dance. On Sunday morning we will have a worship service followed by a free picnic, provided by our own Jocko Button and the VFW. A registration fee will be charged for this event, in addition to your regular dues, which must be current. (A membership form can be filled out here.) The fee will cover the cost of the banquet and other related Association expenses. The registration form is located on page 5 of this letter. You can also register on line at www.steeltigers.org. As before, you can pick and chose which events that you would like to attend. You can make your selections on the registration form. You can register for a room by calling The Galt House Hotel at 1-800-626-1814 or using their website at www.galthouse.com. Room reservations need to be made by June 19th 2004 to get the discounted rate. You should also mention that you’re with the Steel Tigers. The lower rates are good 3 days prior and after our event in case you would like to stay a little longer. Driving directions can also be obtained from their website. We would appreciate having your registration forms in by May 1st which will help in planning, reservations and transportation for the various activities. |
